Bristol Old Station

Track

Bristol Old Station Track Construction   The templot plan was printed onto thin card and stuck to an off cut of MDF with PVA. That templot plan is a work of art...
Bristol Old Station Track Construction   There's another one of the template for you to enjoy!
Bristol Old Station Track Construction   So, starting off with the simple crossover I first laid the blocked timbers cut from 2mm Scale Association PCB strip. I opted for equalised timbering on the lead, however, I recently read that old type curved switches were arranged end on. Still, you can't have everything and I doubt anyone will notice. The timbers are stuck to the template with a glue stick.
Bristol Old Station Track Construction   A little more progress on the timbering.
Bristol Old Station Track Construction   Timbering finished on the scissors / 3 way combination. The isolated small group is a trap point protecting the running line from vehicles leaving No.1 siding. There's a trap for No.2 siding within the scissors.
Bristol Old Station Track Construction   The A end of No.10 points with the Versaline chairplates sweated in place. Tedious work but it's starting to show progress.
Bristol Old Station Track Construction   More progress on applying the Versaline chairplates to the crossing timbers, part used Versaline frets can be seen.
Bristol Old Station Track Construction   An aerial view, starting the come together. I can't wait to add the rails!
