FLY SHUNTING.

Fly shunting (the drawing by an engine of wagons towards points becoming facing, and uncoupling whilst the engine is in motion for one portion of the train or shunt to run upon one line and the remainder of the train or shunt to run on to another line) is prohibited except at places where there are no other reasonably practicable means of performing the work, and must only be carried out by men accustomed to the work.

The Foreman or person in charge of the shunting operations must decide when fly shunting shall be performed.
