Somerset & Dorset Railway Heritage Trust
Rule Book
Aims
A few thoughts...
- Incorporate 'best practice' from Network Rail, British Railways and SDR Rule Books and operating procedures.
- Current methods will not contradict and allow for expansion of the rule book when the line is extended and operating practices change.
- No local instructions in the rule book.
- Based on 1960s rules with a number of items brought in line with current Network Rail procedures.
- Index for easy rule finding.
Possible Rule Conflicts
- Token with leading (NR) or rearmost loco (BR).
- Yellow (NR) or Green (BR) flags.
- Staff stays with failed train (NR/SDR) or goes to Signal Box (BR)
