1470 was the regular Ashburton engine
Built April 1936 as 4870, renumbered as 1470 on 16 November 1946 and withdrawn on 1 October 1962. New cylinders in April 1950, topfeed boiler. Lined Black from April 1950, Unlined Black from November 1955, Lined Green from February 1961.
