Maine Central GE U25B
In 1980, the Maine Central aquired a fleet of 1965-vintage U25Bs from the Rock Island. The fourteen U-boats arrived in either red, maroon or sky blue plaint, and MEC retained their numbers 225-238. They augumented MEC's fleet of five year old U18Bs and were later joined by U23Bs from the Delaware & Hudson. Five of the U25Bs were scrapped for their parts and the remaining nine units were operated until the end of the decade.
