LNER Diagram 214 12T Insul-Fish

A 15ft wheelbase steel chassis with LNER eight shoe vacuum brakegear, disc wheels and self contained buffers. Designed for passenger working they also had steam pipes. 75169 is believed to be the sole survivor, now owned by the LNER Coach Association and is currently under restoration on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

E75000 - E75599 were built in 1949/'50 to diagram 214.

E75366 was built at BR Faverdale, Darlington Works sometime between 1949 and 1950. The left hand axlebox is LNER pattern, the right hand a BR plate front type. Livery is an all white aluminium plated plywood body, black solebars and black lettering. Seen at Birmingham Suffolk Street Goods depot in 1959.

E75474 at Birmingham New Street station in 1951. The small lettering to the left of the door reads "NOT TO WORK BETWEEN TONBRIDGE AND BATTLE VIA ROBERTSBRIDGE SOUTHERN REGION."
