Layout identical to D1778 but no conventional underframe - merely a battery support bracket at one side. Lot 292 was heavily riveted, remainder had less rivets but a prominent waist strip. The Birmingham C&W vehicles also has a top strip above the windows. All varieties had short rainstrips over the doors rather than a single end-to-end rainstrips.
